After having alot of consideration, we decided to take the risk to take the first step to throw money and effort into this dot com as a sign of hope and believe that our community WILL grow and expand into something huge, as huge as the DotA scene or even bigger! :)

We did our part in putting our utmost effort and money to help the entire community, so in return do your smallest part by spreading the word. We need all the traffic we can get to show giant companies that we are alive, huge and professional so our scene will finally get a company to rely on financially and we can even start getting players to get paid, just like the western gaming scene.

This blog will no longer be active and we'll be focusing all the coverage on that website instead.

AoMW aka sR - Caught and banned for hacking

The current AoMW ACC team, which now consists team members formerly known as sR (the original AoMW is not from ACC. As far as I know AoMW are not active in competitions) have been reported hacking. After some investigations were done by the ACC admins, they were caught hacking against CERT in a ACC match.

While it could not be confirmed that ALL members in the AoMW ACC team were hacking, (confirmed: Whiskaz, suspected but not fully-proven: Liquid, ManZ) they were caught on the server chat logs discussing in the game on team-chat, agreeing to turn on their hacks, and a member was later caught for wall hacking when the ACC admins reviewed the demo.

In conclusion, they AS A TEAM decided to turn on their hacks, it is understood that they are all implicit in the manner and shall all be punished the same way.

After ACC admins reviewed all the evidence, it has been decided that the AoMW ACC team shall be removed with immediate effect and the team AoMW & sR and all the current members are banned indefinitely from the ACC.

Furthermore, they are also banned on ALL official ACC servers, and other server owners are encouraged to ban the scourge that they are as well.

We must act strongly and decisively to deter these vermins from infesting our community, their details are below for banning and to shame them:

CoD4 Mods

Call of Duty 4 has evolved into a variety of custom mods as Infinity Wards has given the approval for the public to modify it. The original mod for COD4 by Infinity Ward is known as ModWarfare, where it is normally used in public games. The freedom of weapons and perks is decided by the player. Should they want to play stealth, they can go for silenced weapons with perks such as UAV Jammer and Dead Silence, or towards Suppressing combat, where they can go for Assault / Light Machine Guns a.k.a LMG with perks like Bandolier, Stopping Power and Deep Impact.

In lieu of this, many custom mods were created , e.g Promod Final Release 3, PAM4, DAMN:MW, Promod LiVE, Zombie Mods, Paintball Mods. The more frequent Mod that we see competitively nowadays would be Promod Release 3 Final, where it is being used in major competitions such as CyberFusion which was held recently.

The current COD community is using Promod Final Release 3 in the clan servers. Yet there are some public hosted servers such as Narakka server which still uses the original mod - ModWarfare.

Now I'll discuss why Promod Final Release 3 is being used nowadays.

A lot of people would think, 'why Promod? Ain't Promod is like playing CS? Or that mod is actually trying to lure CS players into moving on to CoD4?'

Allow me to help you view from this perspective. British Ryan "raf1" Palmer, whom is the creator of Promod, made it because he was inspired by Call of Duty 1 and Call of Duty 2 which boast more competitive gameplay previously because it doesn't have any perks. And FYI, before CoD4, Call of Duty 1 & 2 are being played competitively in Europe and N.America.

After people in Europe and NA realized that their CoD4 series are being spoiled by perks, raf1 made the mod called Promod.

That's why he retires because the newly launched CoD5 is not competitive and even in terms of game play, it's boring. Reason is because it has more of perks, vehicle usage, and other things that lack the originality of the COD series .

And raf1 whom is not CS mod maker, nor a CS player, did not include any of the CS engine into COD.

So, Promod can be said is derived from the CoD2 game play system. Because CoD2 system is much more competitive without using the perks and anything that involves random factors such as CoD4.

IMO, Perks MAKE the game RANDOM.

Again, Promod is not created from CS, IT'S dervives from the success from CALL OF DUTY 2.

Anyways, now we're going discuss about Promod LiVE.

Promod LiVE is a mod that has been created with combination of 2 mods which are : Promod 4.40 and DAMN:MW mod.

Promod 4.40 is a mod that majority of EU countries are playing as their competitive mod.
While DAMN:MW mod, is a mod that N.America countries are playing as their competitive mod.

Thus this situation actually confuses the COD community of the other parts of the world on which mod to follow. Hence, Promod LiVE was created, where elements of Promod 4.40 and DAMN:MW mod are being combined.

Promod LiVE mod is actually being used widely in the COD4 gaming community as we speak.

We at COD4 SEA community, is going to move ourselves to Promod LiVE as soon as ACC season 1 over. Like it or not, get used to it! That's what competitive players do.

Hi all it's been a while since I've posted my last 'proper' blog post, due to info's need to be injected here regarding our CoD4 community. :D

ACC which stands for Asian Call of Duty 4 Championship, the is a ladder competition system. Currently it's running on the 14th week and the season is going to complete in another week's time.

The participants of this ladder are all from South East Asia Region, where Malaysia sends the most team with 10 teams, 9 teams from Philippines, 5 teams from Singapore , 2 teams from India , 1 team from Sri Lanka, 1 team from Indonesia and from 2 teams from Hong Kong. A total of 30 teams particpated on its first season, talking about supporting the COD4 competitive scene,

The ACC is mainly sponsored by Fragnetics (http://v2.fragnetics.com/), where Fragnetics is a leading Singapore game server provider that offers web hosting and web application development services.

They have sponsored two free servers for the ACC matches.

The mod being used for this ladder is Promod Final release 3. However after this season ends, Promod LiVE will be the official mod for ACC Season 2.

For the ladder system they're using a excel table to calculates the points of the ladder (http://pxgl.org/). When you win against your assigned opponent, you'll get 2 points, 1 for a draw game , and of course the loser will not get anything.

The system being used is similar to Barclays Premier League of football :D

The fixtures will released on Monday weekly by admin [JEDI] DA, the teams will have sufficient time to arrange the match with their opponent and finish the game before by the end of the week (Sunday 12:00am). If not DA will ask you to buy him 4 egg canai and sour soup or he'll say this to you

OK jokes aside, on its 13th week, the one leading the ladder are SWL from Malaysia with 47 points of 26 matches played being tied with Bf.Nut from SG, and JEDI DP with 46 points of 25 matches played.

Duties of the council :-
- To administrate and officiate clans in Malaysia
- Provide support to clans/teams
- Official announcements and updates from sponsors, organizers and clans
- Ensure growth and maturity within the community
- Act as the ambassador for Malaysia's Call of Duty 4 community to other countries
- Exercise authority to ban and blacklist clans/teams or send out warnings

Borneo Call of Duty 4 Tournament.

Yes, Borneo is back to action in Call of Duty 4 competitive scene. They were last seen at WGT 08 where team TasTas came and represent Borneo in the tourney. Despite their lost in the first round, it was a good game and experience for them

But now East Malaysia is hosting a tournament in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah! They're using a mod that everyone in SEA using currently, Promod Final Release 3.

The prizes of the tournament are:
Champion: RM1,500 + Trophy
1st Runner up: RM1,000 + Trophy
2nd Runner up: RM500 + Trophy

So come and support the first Call of Duty 4 tournament at East Malaysia
